Feasibility Assessment:
A Proven Process

AltaML’s Feasibility Assessment is a robust two-phase process designed to propel organizational AI initiatives forward. From identifying ideal use cases that align with organizational goals and challenges to validating technical and strategic feasibility, AltaML is dedicated to ensuring the viability and potential for the success of AI use cases before you commit to a more extensive engagement.

Through collaborative ideation sessions, AltaML harnesses the collective intelligence of key stakeholders to identify and qualify innovative ideas that align with organizational objectives. Our team defines opportunities to tackle challenges and carefully selects AI use cases with the most potential. This process involves identifying high-level technical requirements and ensuring access to necessary technical services. Additionally, relevant data sources are identified, and a data acquisition plan is established to lay a strong foundation for future development.

During the feasibility stage, AltaML’s team of cross-functional experts rigorously validate the technical and strategic feasibility of identified use cases, ensuring the right conditions are in place to proceed and identify potential risks. The team is focused on understanding the end user journey and validating AI hypotheses from the beginning. Once aligned, a technical experimentation plan is developed outlining pipelines, targets, analytics techniques, and approaches.

Once the assessment is completed, AltaML delivers a comprehensive package of valuable outcomes to the Partner, including a feasibility report that defines organizational and AI challenges to be solved, data source analysis, stakeholder evaluation, responsible AI practices, risk examination, and project assumptions. Additionally, the partner is provided with user journey documentation and a technical experimentation plan outlining potential machine learning technicals, metrics to drive model optimization, and recommendations on next steps. Feasibility Assessments are used as the foundation for the success of future engagements with AltaML.

Feasibility Assessments in Action

We approached AltaML because we thought that AI may be able to help us unlock a lot of value within the data that we were generating within our mill and across our business lines.

AltaML took a methodical, fresh eyes review of our business and operations. This foundational work put our first AI Models into production in our mill – already driving up to $70,000 in savings per year. With AltaML’s support, we are expanding the AI work we are doing in the mill to continue to drive yield and efficiency.

We’d recommend AltaML as a partner to any organization looking to adopt AI within their business, as we’ve found their focus on getting AI into use to be of great value.

Through the cross functional discussions, we see new perspectives emerge. We tackled work that we otherwise wouldn’t have and done so in a cost-effective way, resulting in learnings that we can apply to our own analytics development and delivery cycles internally.
